Property Owners Appeal Court Ruling on Increased Garbage Service Fees

East Bay Rental Housing Association (EBRHA) filed a lawsuit on June 29, 2016 on behalf of Oakland rental property owners who experienced huge increases in garbage and recycling fees since the City of Oakland contracted with Waste Management and California Waste Solutions in July of 2015. 

The case was filed in Alameda County Superior Court RG16821376 as Zolly v. City of Oakland. On July 19, 2018, Alameda County Superior Court Judge ruled against the Plaintiffs. On August 2, 2018, Plaintiffs filed an appeal to the State Court of Appeal. We will update you on the outcome of the appeal.
